*yawn
Babies are soo hard to predict.
I thought there would be a routine.. u know, eat, burp, sleep, diaper change and around we go.
Chantelle has variations to that routine... which includes... no sleeping, more eating, diaper change a few more times, more eating... most likely snacking... and then finally decide to sleep for a few hrs!
(really need to breathe deeply, have more patience and be soo much more understanding as newborn parents)
Cant' wait until we introduce the dummy (pacifier). she can suck to her heart's content!
She makes these gurgling noises when she's sleeping and we tense up, afraid that she has woken up after settling down for a few minutes, and even when she has slept for hrs, we are praying she will sleep just a little bit more, so her parents can squeeze in some more snooze time. (ahh, the lazy parents, who obviously have over-indulged in their sleep/nap time before the arrival of this lil bundle)
i'm even afraid to peer into the crib, as i think she can sense when someone is nearby and looking at her, she pops her eyes open and stares back... then DRAMA, she is awake.
Sigh, have begun to spy on her, just to check she is asleep and making noises in her sleep and not really awake and does not need attention.
The only good thing is, Chantelle doesnt really cry (wail) that much anymore.
However, i feel like the only time i can relax is when she is asleep. kekeke, keep trying to get her to drink her milk, that way she is full and falls asleep... however, she is on to us i believe, and as mentioned above, she has changed our routine (where i sometimes just want to pull my hair out!). In cases like these, i give her to Charles and demand that he rocks her to sleep.
Another plus, the last few nights, she has stopped being fussy between 2am-5am. She wakes up to eat then sleeps like she is suppose to! (pray) ooh, hope it will stay like that for a while...
At the moment, she is laughing in her sleep (cute thing right?), sure, i now have to check that her eyes are closed and she is sleeping ( peering over the crib...baby lying still... she has gone quiet.. she must be asleep... thank goD!)
She is 17 days old... when will she be 7.. better yet, 17??? LOL
I'm sure life will get better. Cant wait until she can crawl and stay put in one place without crying or needing attention...ahh.. life with the newborn has made me nearly forget about labour and delivery.. plus the 9 months of changes!
