Our itinerary for the day
EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
FIFTH AVENUE
TIFFANY and CO
GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM but we didn’t make it there on FOOT so we detoured to MOMA (Museum of Modern Art)
Empire State building was spectacular! The view was amazing and the SKYLINE trip was cool! We sat in this lil theatre and pretended we were flying over MANHATTAN. It was wild! Well, I thought it was :P kept getting excited at every sharp turn, hoola hoopy air dives and aerial view.
Check out the PICS!
Hudson river… according to CRIMINAL INTENT: LAW & ORDER . .. where dead people body float…(errie music).. kekeke it was quite picturesque from the BUILDING.
The FINANCIAL DISTRICT – see anything missing?? The TWIN TOWERS (WORLD TRADE CENTRE) is still considered as US landmark.
EllIS ISLAND and LIBERTY …. You all know the STATUE of LIBERTY was given to the US by the FRENCH right?
….at FLUSHING QUEENS, till her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes.. where was she to go…. Wat was she to do.. ?? kekeke
From the EMPIRE state building we went right along 5th AVENUE – the oh so glamorous LABELS like SAKS, TIFFANY, LOUIS VUITTON, BURBURRY,
It’s a 1.8km walk from the EMPIRE to CENTRAL PARK. Pretty LONG walk! My feet were soo sore and we were SOOO hungry but we headed directly to TIFFANY and it was HUGE. 6 stores high!
MOMA was our next destination. I saw real works by PICASSO, DALI and DUCHUMP! I recognised most of the artworks from the all the ARTWORKS EPHS students STUDY! Sooo cool to be able to see them in REAL LIFE! Ohhhh I saw POLLOCK and MONET as well!
We had dinner at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ.
OUR only meal for the day cos we were sooo busy walking!
We headed towards CHINATOWN later at night – we caught our first SUBWAY ($2) from PENN STATION! We had to catch the E route, we waited for ages at 4th West Station. Got off at CANAL ST and walked for ages and NO SHOPS were open! Grrr we were upset, but we did stumble across LITTLE ITALY! A whole ST full of bubbly restaurants! That’s where we’re heading tomorrow night for DINNER! We wanted to catch the BUS back, but we didn’t know where it was! Easiest way back was to catch a TAXI ($9).
