Have you ever wanted to get lost in a MAZE? This year, a little group of 9 tried out the corn maze@swankfarm.
Headed out to Swankfarm at 11:30am, first stopping by at KingEgg Roll in San jose (Storyrd) for some lunch. We arrived at 12:45pm, had lunch and proceeded to purchase our tix and head into the thick of the corn.
First impression: The corns didnt look TALL enough...but it did indeed cover our head. It didnt particularly loom over us, but from a child's perspective, im sure it did look TALL! As soon as the 9 of us entered the maze, we pretty much went our separate ways, automatically divided into groups of 3. Charles+I, Nancy+Patty+Jen, Tim+Ehren+Dana+Brian. It was a cozy group and the maze wasnt crowded, so we pretty much could enjoy the serenity of the place: being so far from everything. Occasionally we could hear voices floating through the corn, where we could try to sneak up upon them or run in the opposite direction if we heard them coming. Roughly took us about 1.5hs to complete the maze, however Charles+I+chantelle headed out first as Chantelle needed a feed and diaper change. There was very little breeze once inside the Maze, and what with the sun beating down on us, on a glorious outing day, we had to escape out of the maze for some shade. Overall, i had a good time, first time in a maze. We had to look for words to complete a storyline: we did 1/3 of it, before we retired with Chantelle. We did try to head into the Labyrinth: but after walking around the maze, we must have been tired. We walked up to the 1st part and then decided to cut it short and headed back out.
We would have liked to go through a maze where there were separate beginnings and endings, and dead-ends. The purpose of this maze was to find words which unravelled a story about a journalist's discovery at Swankfarm. Recommend to families and small groups who want a little adventure, who doesnt really want to get lost (As the fence barricade wall helped you find your way out) but have fun at solving a little mystery on the way.
Swankfarm is open last week of Sept until Halloween (Beginning of Nov). They have the scary maze too for those who want a little thrill in the evening.. leading up to Halloween.
Some Pics are found in my picasa album, inside Chantelle's 1yr old album.
