Muir woods (national monument park)

Headed out to Muir Woods at 11:30am. We packed a mean lunch (sandwiches + fruits) and made sure we had enough food for Chantelle. It was a sunny sunny day, until we drove on the 380. Clouds were heavy + yuck (smoky). Got stuck in traffic on 19th Avenue (roadwork and some event going on there) but did a quick detour of the vista point on the north side of the golden gate where no fog was in sight. it was a beautiful day to take pictures, but no luck, it was packed with tourists + cars. We continued onto the 1 HWY, where we saw a sign which flashed "MUIR WOODS CARPARK FULL". We were hesitant to go any further, until we saw a sign which read "MUIR WOODS SHUTTLE: WEEKENDS + HOLIDAYS". We got off the busy traffic and headed towards the car-park and just missed the 1pm shuttle. We got onto the shuttle at 1:15pm@$3 per adult. We lugged Chantelle + pram + our backpacks on board, and settled into a scenic 20min drive to Muir woods.

Upon heading home, we detoured onto the lookout points to take pics of the Golden Gate. It was a breathtaking sight, beautiful pristine waters, sunny day, with a cool light breeze. it was a wonderful day out, and Chantelle behaved beautifully =)
