Landed at 8:01am Sydney time. We had been travelling for 14 1/2 hrs, bypassing high winds, taking the long-er route to Sydney from LA.
Chantelle was very good. She slept for about 8 of the 14 hrs before she woke up and had a brief feed and then back to naps she went. We were lucky she was such a good traveller, however I guess we were scared she would be difficult so we were always on our toes.
BY-passed actual screening declarations/ customs after being in line for a while.
My sisters were all there to pick us up and Aunty Trang got to hold Chantelle for a brief moment before she burst into tears :) guess it was the jet lag!
Had our little BBQ at 12pm. Chantelle met and greeted a lot of people, and it was overwhelming at times, but on the whole she had a great time. Poor baby dropped off in Daddy's arms by 5pm and didn't wake up till 6am the next morning!
Our little family was asleep by 10:30pm that night. It was N>>I>>C>>>E to sleep on our bed again!
The next day, it was cleaning time. Threw out all my old clothes, made cupboard space for baby chantelle and re-arranged our bedroom so we could fit Chantelle's little sleeping bed.
Charles & I caught a bit of the flu whilst here (sooo cold), but Chantelle seems to be ok. She's not drinking as much milk as she did in the States, maybe too overwhelmed by everything to feel hungry?!?
My friends took a day off work to take me on a little outing. Berrima for Scones & Jam (quite lovely - bar the flies that were still hanging around from summer.. .ewwww) It was basically a day to munch on food. We practically didnt stop eating till 9:30pm that night at Cafe D'or... as good as I remembered it :)
Last few days, we have been calling around for tradespeople to supply quotes in order to fix/ repair our property for the rental market in November. Plasterer is coming out next Tues to fix all cracks and repair all damages to ceiling.
Electricians said our wiring was fine (doing its job) but we are contemplating whether we should up the AMP at our place. Currently our house is running on 16Amp total in 3 of the bedrooms.... hmmm... decisions, decisions.
Chantelle has been having baths over Ba Ngoai's place. After crying the first 2 times, she seems to enjoy her bath again. Must be the strangeness... someone else giving her baths instead of her mummy :) Actually, I have only fed her once in the last 5 days since we have been here. Her aunties, ba Ngoai and daddy have been feeding her!! (Still pumping of course!)
Ba Ngoai bought her her first baby walker. She is currently walking back-wards... Have no idea why (am thinking she will walk forward soon, after she figures out the forward movement, like she did with crawling).
It's Thursday, and i only have an evening walk planned with Ms Chau. Maybe I should clean out my shoe boxes!!!! OH, did i tell you that i also did a massive garage clean? Full of webs/ spiders and icky cockroaches - AY YA!! all gone now, clean clean clean!!
Charles has started working again as well. He headed up to the Sydney office yesterday and worked a full day!! I didn't see him in the evening as I was out, only saw him for 3hrs yesterday morning before work. BUT, we did email/ chat a lot during the day :)
Trang's Karaoke bday party on this Saturday night (should be wild!)
xx
