The Redwood hiking trails at THE BIG BASIN on Saratoga Ave was exhilerating but tiring. There was a time, when walking up the hills, around the hill.. that i felt my legs were going to collapse.
THe easy 0.5mile, Redwood trail was soo easy that i felt we could do the 3.9miles to the Berry waterfalls. huh! wat a joke! the Redwood trail was flat, the Berry trail was upwards and soo high up, i was huffing and puffing at every hill-top. By 0.7miles i was dead tired, wishing we were back home. My legs felt like it was going to collapse under me. Good thing, we came across an intersection, which said, "BERRY FALLS - 6hrs round trip - very strenuous hike.." keke we let that idea go, and Charles found a way back to our car... just a LEG COLLAPSING, heart POUNDING, HIKE up 3hills, and then it was downhill from there. PHEW!
Big Basin, only 1 hr away - but the last 8miles by car is quite windy and narrow.
