Well, we got our Burley trailer which Charles can put together in about 1min. Having used it for the past 4wks on our family biking trek, he has now become an expert at hitching the bikes and getting our family ready for biking adventure.
Our first few wks were spent settling me into my brand new bike. I had to overcome wrist sprains (excessive pushing onto the handlebars whilst riding), and sore behind from balancing on the tiny bike seat. I had to learn how to negotiate the different gears when we crossed various terrain - major workout when im not quick to realise.
Our journey took us along the waters of Shoreline. I never really ventured further than the walking path around the lake where you can hire paddle boats for pleasure on the lake. Our biking trek took us closer to the marshes, but i discovered a little thrill when the wind blows my hair and crisp air touch my face. My legs seem to get a really good workout, especially when i forget to change gears properly. I'm not 100% sure my babies like it, but Chantelle is content in her Burley trailer and Neo seems to enjoy riding behind me on his bike seat.
Last week we ventured to Coyote Trail ($6 entry) in San Jose. The surrounding was beautiful, and the ride picturesque. We felt enclosed in the park/trails riding under canopies of cotton trees and the likes. We did about 2.5miles before we detoured to a park we happened to stumble across, after crossing the bridge. We reached suburbia without meaning to. It was a pleasant surprise and the kids enjoyed playing at the playground.
All in all, April brought about an active weekend for our family.
